JR Law Group is seeking an Experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our growing team.
We’re looking for someone who understands that exceptional paralegal work is about much more than completing tasks. You anticipate deadlines, stay ahead of your cases, communicate confidently with clients and attorneys, take ownership of your responsibilities, and understand the value your work brings to the strategy and success of a case.
Our ideal candidate is experienced, organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator. You care about the people behind the cases, remain composed when things get busy, and enjoy being part of a collaborative, high-performing team.
Because of the level of responsibility involved, this position requires hands-on family law paralegal experience and the ability to manage the paralegal responsibilities of a caseload with confidence. This is not an entry-level position.

COMPENSATION
Starting base salary ranges from $60,000–$75,000 annually, plus a performance-based bonus structure, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated family law expertise.
We believe exceptional paralegals should be recognized and rewarded for exceptional performance. Our compensation model provides meaningful earning potential beyond base salary and is designed to reward performance, experience, and continued professional growth.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As an experienced paralegal at JR Law Group, you’ll work closely with attorneys and clients throughout the life of a family law case.
Case Management & Attorney Support
- Manage case deadlines, attorney calendars, and court-related dates with accuracy and attention to detail
- Draft, prepare, file, and organize pleadings and other case documents
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic client files and matter information
- Coordinate mediations, hearings, depositions, trials, and other case-related events
- Track case status, deadlines, and next steps and proactively communicate updates to attorneys
- Assist attorneys with preparation for hearings, mediation, and trial
- Manage and organize client documents and discovery materials
- Coordinate filing, service, delivery, and other case-related logistics
- Maintain accurate and current case information within the firm’s case management systems
Client Communication & Support
- Serve as an important point of contact for clients throughout their cases
- Assist with client onboarding and offboarding
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding deadlines, hearings, mediations, filings, and other case developments
- Provide clients with copies of filed and received pleadings and other relevant documents
- Help clients understand court procedures and what to expect throughout the process
- Respond promptly and professionally to client communications and appropriately involve the attorney or other team members when needed
- Provide consistent case status updates and help ensure clients feel informed and supported
Teamwork & Client Service
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals
- Approach difficult or fast-moving situations with professionalism and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Demonstrate empathy through both communication and action
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and professional staff
- Adapt effectively as case circumstances and priorities change
- Take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on commitments
- Take pride in producing accurate, thoughtful work and providing exceptional service
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is designed for an experienced family law paralegal who can step into an active caseload and contribute from the outset.
Required qualifications include:
- Two or more years of family law paralegal experience
- Experience independently managing court deadlines and attorney calendars
- Direct client communication experience
- Familiarity with Utah court rules, procedures, and family law practice
- Experience drafting, preparing, and filing family law pleadings and related documents
- Strong organizational and case-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Comfort using technology and case-management systems
- A collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented mindset
Please note: This is not an entry-level legal position. Candidates should have prior hands-on experience working as a paralegal in family law.
